How to sync Facebook Lead Generation Ads with a CRM (example with ActiveCampaign)

  1. Log into your AdEspresso account at http://app.adespresso.com/.
  2. Inside AdEspresso, go to Tools -> Data Sync.
  3. Enter a name for the new sync you want to create and click on the button "Create new sync".
  4. Now you have to select a SOURCE for your sync. Select Facebook and click Next on the bottom right corner.
  5. You will be presented with a list of Facebook Accounts you have access to. Choose your account from the list.
  6. When you select your account, a list of Facebook Pages connected to that account will appear underneath the account list. Choose one of the pages by clicking it. Notice that if you want to select another Facebook Page you can just click it anytime from this list.
  7. After you have selected your page, a list of LeadGen Forms associated to that page will appear. Choose one of the forms by clicking it and then click Next on the bottom right corner.
     
  8. Now you have to select the TARGET for your sync. Select ActiveCampaign and click Next on the bottom right corner.
  9. If this is the first time that you create a sync with ActiveCampaign, you will be requested to enter your ActiveCampaign API Url and Api Key. Otherwise you can go to point 15.
  10. Log in into your ActiveCampaign account on http://www.activecampaign.com/login/. First enter your account name and click Login. Then enter your email and password to access your ActiveCampaign dashboard.
  11. If you don't have a list, you must create one to sync contacts to. Follow ActiveCampaign quick start guide to create a list at http://www.activecampaign.com/help/quick-start-guide/.
  12. On the very top right corner of the dashboard, you will find your account username. Click it and select "My Settings" to go to your ActiveCampaign settings page.
  13. On the left, click on the "Developer" link.
  14. You will find the Url and Key values on the top of this page. Just copy/paste them into their respective Api Url and Api Key in AdEspresso Data Sync fields and click Next on the bottom right corner.
  15. Now you have to select the ActiveCampaign List you want to sync contacts to. Notice that you must create the list on ActiveCampaign before this step. If you dont have a list, check point 11. for how to create one. Once you selected your list, click Save on the bottom right corner.
  16. At this point you have to create a MAPPING between the Facebook LeadGen Form fields (on the left) and ActiveCampaign contact fields (on the right). Notice that the email field is mandatory for both LeadGen Forms and ActiveCampaign contacts, so you will have to map it. Once you finished the mapping of the fields, click Next on the bottom right corner.
  17. Now you will be presented with a recap of the data and the mapping that you entered. If everything is fine, click Save on the bottom right corner. Otherwise you can go back by clicking Back on the bottom left corner to change things.
  18. Your sync is now complete! You can check its status on the AdEspresso Data Sync main page (the one where you created your new sync at point 3.). You can also stop it if it's running or re-start it if it's stopped by clicking the relative buttons on the sync box.
